Inditherm recently supplied
two innovative, new portable drum heating systems to a leading global
pharmaceutical company. There were two versions supplied; one was a two-drum system on a
pallet with additional base heaters and also heaters for the extraction lances; the
other was a three drum system.
The removable jacket heaters are used to warm viscous products, so that they
can be extracted from the drums more quickly. Although the drums were a standard
205 litre size, the system could be designed to fit virtually any size of drum.
The heaters are capable of heating the contents of the drum up to 90°C, although
in this case the requirement was for up to 70°C.
Both systems can be moved around the factory on a forklift truck, giving the
system significant flexibility.
Inditherm is working with another of the client's plants to develop a
similar, bespoke system that they hope will become a standard product for the
Company.
