Under Pitch Heating |
|
Inditherm has developed the world's most advanced heating system for
football, rugby and hockey pitches, golf courses and other large grass sports
surfaces. Heating systems are now installed under pitches at Middlesbrough
Football Club's training pitch, Falkirk Community Stadium in Scotland, and under
3 pitches at Chelsea Football Club's new training academy in Cobham, Surrey,
England. Inditherm heating is ideal for use under both natural grass and
synthetic turf for all types of sports field.
Inditherm's pitch heating system offers significant benefits over alternative systems:/x-tad-bigger?>
The system operates at low voltage (typically 50V ac) and can be activated automatically using ground and air temperature sensors. Because the pads are flat with insulation underneath, they transfer heat into the ground very efficiently. Combined with the low operating voltage and the flexible control system, energy consumption is very low compared to traditional heating systems, such as gas/hot water or electrical cables. Energy readings from existing installations indicate that energy savings of up to £1,000 per day (€1,450, $1,800) can be achieved using Inditherm. On training grounds, such as Chelsea, which run virtually continuously throughout the winter, the cost of using traditional heating systems can be prohibitive for most clubs. Inditherm provides a cost-effective heating system that enables teams to practice in most weather conditions. Users have also indicated improved grass growth with Inditherm heating, so detailed research into this is now being conducted by the Company. See our Research and Development information >> Using Inditherm also leads to savings in maintenance and if no boiler is required, insurance, inspection and carbon emissions costs are also reduced.
