Inditherm plc has been awarded a contract worth £155,000 for the supply of
process heating to a well-known confectionary manufacturer in the UK.
The project involves the supply and installation of process heating for two
22 cubic metre storage vessels and 85 metres of process pipework. The system is
required to heat a sweetener material that must be maintained at a constant
temperature in order to ensure it remains liquid under all weather
conditions.
The customer had specified Inditherm in preference to traditional electrical
trace heating, because of the significant benefits provided by their heating
technology. These include uniform heating, improved temperature control, hygiene
and significantly lower energy consumption.
Another innovative feature of the installation is the modular, 'plug &
play' pipework system. The modular concept enables sections of pipe to be
manufactured off-site and then installed much more rapidly than existing
practices.
The contract follows the successful completion of another project for the
same customer at one of their plants in central Europe . This was completed
ahead of schedule, enabling the plant to start production earlier than
planned.
Commenting on the contract, Inditherm's CEO, Richard Harpum said, "This will
be the third contract we have installed for this customer and is a solid
endorsement of our heating technology. It also helps to underpin our growth
targets for 2007."
