Inditherm selected to heat confectionery process

Inditherm plc has been selected to heat a new process line for the UK operation of a major multi-national confectionery manufacturer, with American parent company.  The order, received recently, is valued at just under £100k and is scheduled for completion early in 2010.

This is the fourth major project Inditherm will have supplied to this manufacturer, with one of those being a plant in Poland. The installation will use Inditherm’s advanced heating technology, combined with the latest IndithermPro food-grade insulation and cladding system, to maintain the temperature of a syrup product used in the manufacturing process.

Cost of implementation was the main consideration for this project due to limited capital budget allocation available to the customer to year-end, coupled with a need to complete implementation as soon as possible. In winning this order Inditherm demonstrated that their advanced performance could be priced competitively against traditional heating technologies.

The hygiene factors afforded by Inditherm’s new insulation and cladding system were an important consideration in this particular process, and follows on a successful recent installation in a challenging chocolate manufacturing application with another global manufacturer. The simplicity with which IndithermPro can be removed and re-fitted is considered a further advantage over traditional cladding systems.

Commenting on the new order, Inditherm’s CEO Nick Bettles said: “This customer already appreciates the advantages that Inditherm solutions offer, but in this case implementation cost was critical. Many customers think that the advanced performance Inditherm delivers will mean a premium price, so it was important to show that the system was competitive. Experience shows that the low energy costs and negligible maintenance requirements of our system will deliver substantial further savings during the operational life.”
