Inditherm has conducted significant research into the effect of embedding its conductive polymer technology into modular, pre-cast concrete structures. When operated in matured concrete, the Inditherm system can transfer heat to the surface of concrete panels and thus provide a heat source to structures such as apartment blocks and prisons.
This innovation provides an alternative to existing technologies and overcomes some of the associated problems; for example, in custodial buildings (prisons), it eliminates the need for radiators and pipes, reducing potential injuries to occupants and also removing the opportunity for concealing weapons and other objects. The supply of precast concrete elements with integrated heating also reduces construction times by taking more of the process off site.
