Process Heating

Coloured blocks

Replacing traditional heating technologies, such as hot water, steam and electrical trace heating, Inditherm's proven, low voltage, heating system is ideal for process heating of pipework, pumps, valves and vessels in the food processing, confectionary, pharmaceutical, chemical, petrochemical and other process industries.

Inditherm is especially useful in situations where users need to keep viscous liquids flowing or it is necessary to melt out product that has set hard during a factory or line shutdown. Powered by 24Vac to 48Vac, controllable to ±2°C and with the ability to re-melt product, Inditherm technology fulfils a multitude of process industry requirements.

Any Shape or Size of Equipment can be Heated

Inditherm's flexible polymer construction allows for an almost infinite range of requirements to be heated. Almost any shape or size of equipment can be heated, including valves, pumps, flow meters, pipe work and large vessels.

Flexibility and Performance

Inditherm offers the widest range of benefits for process control applications. The heating system can be fitted to new or existing installations quickly and easily, and to install Inditherm NO changes to existing pipe work are required. Inditherm works just as well on concentric dual-wall pipes as it does on single wall pipework.

Reduced Energy Costs and Carbon Emissions

The unique qualities of CPT, combined with its low voltage power supply, close temperature control and effective insulation ensure that energy costs are kept to a minimum. The combined benefits result in using less Watts per linear or square metre of coverage than any other heating technology. In many cases, energy consumption is less than 30% of competing technologies. This reduces costs and helps meet the demands of climate change legislation.

No Maintenance Issues

Being solid state, Inditherm heating systems are virtually maintenance free. Depending upon the control system used, temperature control or monitoring can be supplied to provide an indication of what is happening within the process.

When using removable jackets, gaining access to pumps and valves without the need to shut the heating system down is a major advantage.

As well as the energy and maintenance savings, replacing water heating with Inditherm negates the capital cost of calorifiers and pumps, along with the insurance and maintenance costs associated to these items. Reducing potential down-time by eliminating the risk of water contamination caused by corrosion or erosion also saves money.

Control Systems

Inditherm heating systems for process control generally run at between 24Vac and 48Vac and are powered from a 415V, 220V or 110V single or three phase input through a transformer housed in wall-mounted cabinets located to optimize power distribution.

The cabinets are IP rated and finished in painted mild steel or stainless steel, according to the user's requirements.

Panels have power-on LED indication and mains isolator switches. All power outlets are protected by individual 25A DIN-rail mounted circuit breakers. Panel wiring is in accordance with BS6231.
